Trainer Peter Moody will try to get a taste of international success ahead of Black Caviar running at Royal Ascot with King’s Rose who will run in the Champions Mile in Hong Kong.

A Group One winner in New Zealand as a three-year-old before joining the Moody camp, King’s Rose won the Memsie Stakes (1400m) and the Stocks Stakes (1600m), both at Group Two level, at her first two Australian outings.

However she hasn’t yet managed a win here at the highest level.

The mare has been placed in four of her last six starts in Group One races – second in the Toorak Hcp (1600m), second in the Emirates Stakes (1600m), third in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) and third in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m).

“The plan is if she comes through it and travels well, she’ll go on from Hong Kong to the UK and Black Caviar will join her there in June,” Moody said.

“It would be tremendous if we could win that one on the way.

“She’s deserved of a Group One, King’s Rose, and her form looks super after More Joyous won well (in the Doncaster Mile) on Saturday.”

King’s Rose’s Royal Ascot mission is the Queen Anne Stakes (1600m) on June 19.

The Redoute’s Choice four-year-old was third to More Joyous in the Queen Of The Turf at Rosehill on April 7 at her latest appearance.

She was scratched from the Doncaster Mile.

The Champions Mile is run at Sha Tin on May 6.
